HI HI Joe, I was teaching BESP II then I shortly after that.  Fort Sill has had a lot of changes, closed post now is the biggest.  Lawton has changed a lot too, not necessarily for the better.  You would think where I am would be perfect.  When my shack is working it does well, but that not very often the case.  There is an interference we have been able to figure out, but when it is good it is really good.  HI HI  Kind of like the stock market.

Geary:

Think what you're seeing is the seasonal ups & downs of propagation. Propagation on the bands can change with the seasons.  Believe there was a major disturbance on the sun over the weekend which caused problems. We're either on the way up or still on the way down with Sunspot Cycle... all we can do is wait and see.  There have been some days when I'd swear my antenna wasn't connected.

Your vertical is a good indication of propagation, but the Alpha-Delta is still a vertical because of ends being so low and verticals are more susceptible to noise.  Have same problem with my A-D 35 ft on tower in middle  and 10 ft on the ends.

BTW,  I have a daughter at home with me  who works a job. There were 2 Granddaughters up until a year and a half ago, now down to 9 yr old.  Older Granddaughter got married and lives across country.

Geary,

Would love to work you, but think we would have to work via ground wave on 40/80 in the evenings.  You are just about 130 miles NW of me. Not sure why you are not hearing much, during the contest my waterfall was pretty good on 40/80 starting at 0000z and finally shut down the rig at about 0330Z.  (only operated off and on during that time).

N5SLY is in Sherman, and I never heard him at all during the contest, yet he scored well.  Have only a couple of qso's with him since he became a member.

If you want, will try to be on 40/80 this evening to attempt a qso.

Jerry I saw three European stations working this morning about 0800 Oklahoma time.  Then PSK went dead here, again.  FT8 has tons of European stations going.  I would rather work PSK, that way 1) I have to pay more attention and 2) there can be a rag chew once in a while too.  HI HI

Hi, everyone! Hi again, Irv. I'm still jealous of your #. LoL! But now I'm a member so I'm really looking forward to the St. Patrick's Day contest this year. I like exploring other digital modes but I keep coming back to PSK. I really enjoy it. Thanks for the warm welcome, y'all!

Now you have to work her again to get credit because she wasn't a member when you worked her.  Wish I had a nickel for every member I worked a day or two before they were members ... I have a whole dollar !
