Re: Fill Slots
Jerry...That's an interesting observation! Out of the literally millions of calls listed at QRZ.com, What % of those millions of world wide calls listed has been banned? Out of the 37,502 Q's I have in my ACLog, is the percentage large enough to even matter? I am still using ACLog 4.9, and it fills in the grid sq. info for me. I have it set up just the way I described in an earlier post. Milt. N6MG 070-650 LONP-76

Also, I should mention that there are many calls which have been banned because of things they had posted on their pages and/or in QRZ forums. What I'm saying is that QRZ is not 100% accurate. The FCC data base is definitely the most accurate.

$30 is the lowest level that provides XML data.
Since most hams provide grid data, I can't see paying for it. And as Jerry points out, the data on QRZ isn't guaranteed to be accurate. I'll generally ask for the grid if the ham doesn't provide it, and use QRZ as a last resort. I can look it up in a matter of seconds while I'm sending a macro.
When you're paying for 2 Master's Degrees, $30 saved is 30 extra dollars in my pocket.

Re: ACLog
Ahaa, So the checker does do the grid squares. Well, the program I use, PSK Express put the grid square in ACLog so I don’t have to manually enter it. Thank goodness. But, then again, I don’t really get in to doing grid squares. Just whatever I get on those I get. Maybe some day I’ll consider it but just not my thing right now.

Here's a screenshot of your checker run. It shows that you have 177 dates filled, the latest of which is 2018-01-02. I've highlighted a couple others.
If you've got entries from December as well, I'd suggest comparing your log entries for a few of those dates to the entries for the most recent two and see what differs.
The 2017-01-16 date on the PDF is showing when you achieved the [090] level. When you achieve the [180] level, it'll spit out a new PDF with the date that you achieve that level on it.
If you click on your callsign under 070-365, it'll show you your current filled in slots. It's actually showing 179 slots for you. I'm not sure where the disconnect is.
It does NOT show the most recent (1/1, 1/2) dates however, and has a date of 28SEP2017 on it, so I've asked David to take a look. He's extraordinarily busy, so it could be a while, but we can hope it'll be soon!

Re: 17m
If they operate at 18.110 , which is end of digital/RTTY band - Yes , if any OO's are paying attention. The rule reads 18.068 - 18.110 is RTTY, data, but is clarified further down the page as: 97.307(F) Only a RTTY, data or muliplexed transmission using a specified digital code listed in 97.309(b) of this Part may be transmitted. The symbol rate must not exceed 19.6 kilobauds. A RTTY, data or multiplexed emission using an unspecified code digital code under the limitations in 97.309(a) of this Part also may be transmitted The authorized bandwidth is 20 kHz. Have an older copy of Part 97, so this wording may have been changed.??? On SSB many get "caught" by operating on 14,350 because the bandwidth of a SSB signal is a tad over 3 KHZ and on 14.350 that would put their modulation products at 14.353; running a KW amp which is overdriven and splattering would put a station even further out of band. So it's always a good idea to leave your signal a "guard band" to insure you're in the proper part of the band. On SSB , it would be 3.5 kHz above/below band edge. Best to read Part 97 yourself and get a big city lawyer to translate ![]() Jerry n9avy Part 97 reads 18.068 - 18.110 From: Randy True <w4rttrandy@...> To: 070Club@groups.io Sent: Tuesday, January 2, 2018 1:08 PM Subject: Re: [070Club] 17m As an aside, you mean allll those FT8 signals at 110 are gonna get OO cards, Hi Hi
