Please join me in congratulating Stan – W9SMR - who yesterday completed his Work The World Award Series.  WTW is one of the “Crown Jewels” of the 070 Endorsements and requires completing 9 separate, ordered awards, a total of 2246 QSOs and years to achieve.  Stan completed the first level of this endorsement on Sept. 13, 2014.  He becomes only the 33nd person to complete the entire series in the 5+ years it has existed!

Congratulations Stan – well done!

Let’s Do It Again!

Rick - N7WE

If the propagation genies weren’t good to you, if you had other obligations during last month’s Triple Play Low Band Sprint, or if you just want to do it again, here is another chance!  The 2017 Triple Play Low Band Sprint DOUBLEHEADER is coming December 9 0000 UTC to December 11 2359 UTC.  Rules are exactly the same as last month. So trim up those antennas.  Clean the coffee pot and get it ready.  More fun (with hopefully better conditions) is on the way!

Details of the contest can be found HERE.  Results of last year’s contest can be found HERE.

December 365 – Finish Line in Sight!

Rick - N7WE

It’s December and that means it’s the Holiday Season!  For six 070 members this may be a very happy time. They have the 365 Finish Line in sight!

First up will be W1IPS – Ral – of Antrim NH.  His Magic Day is December 21.

Next is KE4JB – John – of Cherry Valley NY.  His Magic Day is December 26 – also known as boxing day in many parts of the world.  John has already completed Leap Day and 24/7, so completing his 365 will automatically qualify him for the Clock and Calendar Endorsement as well!

One day later it will be N8LFK – Lee – (formerly KD8ZWG) of Ashland OH. His Magic Day will be December 27th.  Congrats on the new vanity call Lee - your initials for a suffix!

December 30th is the Magic Day for two members.  W3WMU – Jeff - of Sturgis MS and G6PCU – Dave - of Blackpool England. Dave has already completed Leap Day and 24/7, so completing his 365 will automatically qualify him for the Clock and Calendar Endorsement as well!

And closing out the month is John – N3AAZ – of Centreville MD.  His magic day is December 31st.

For these 6 it has been a long, long road.  If you see them calling, give them a reply and help them achieve this difficult, yet rewarding, endorsement.

Good Luck to each of you.  May Old Sol and the Propagation Genies be kind to you!

Congrats Matt!!  Great dedication, for sure.

I am close behind you.

Rick, N7WE noted after I made the 365+1 award last month that I needed only 8 "N" and 6 "I" calls for WTW.

Based on his challenge, I started to pay attention.

As of last nite I had my 8 "N" calls and needed just ONE more "I" call.

Any "I" call volunteers who have not worked W9SMR yet?

This is such a wonderful hobby!!

John:

We all appreciate your efforts in getting out the stickers - it;s a big job and very important to the health of PODXS.

Hope you are progressing well after knee replacement. Have a couple friends who had knees replaced and they did fine. Getting up and down stairs I guess can be a problem. Hope you are better soon and running marathons !

Group 1

Log in to your YahooGroups account. Go to the YahooGroups page. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo

If you haven't logged in to Yahoo recently, it will ask you for your Yahoo ID and password.

Once you are logged in, use the Settings icon in the upper right (looks like a gear) to access "Account Info"

Then select "Account Security" from the menu. You'll probably have to re-enter your password.

Use the Email Accounts menu pick to add/delete addresses. You'll have to verify a new address (I think by entering a code sent to that address) when you add it.

(Note: I think this is how it works. I actually don't have an "add new email address" option, I think because I already have four verified addresses.)

Group 2

Go to the 070 YahooGroups home page. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/070/info

You may have to enter your Yahoo login info to get there.

Click on the "Membership" link in the upper right, and select "Edit Membership"

Edit each of the sections by clicking on the pencil icon by each.

Change the email address for message delivery within the Identity section. (You can only select email addresses that are already in your Yahoo account.)

Change your delivery choice (individual messages, daily digest, specials only, or no messages) within the Subscription section.
