Several of my favorite groups have moved to groups.io.  It's a pretty painless process and all the data and members from the Yahoo group transfer over.

Downloaded QSO's from LoTW and imported them into my logbook and uploaded to checker. It filled in a bunch of the big gap I had.

You've probably already done this, but it is worth saying for the benefit of all on the group.

When you download the ADIF from LoTW, be sure to also load it to your HRD logbook.  Each time you send a log to the progress checker, it replaces the your previous file with the new upload.  That is why we upload the entire file instead of just the new ones (opposite of what LoTW does).  If you haven't corrected the HRD logbook, the next time you export and upload from the HRD log to the Progress Checker , you will have the same problem again.

Re: signal still there

Harry Wilkins

"Years ago", I had a cat that loved to lay on top of the radio equipment, presumably for the heat the tubes gave off – I said it was years ago – many years ago.  Anyway, one day I was in the living room and hearing what could almost pass for a very sloppy CQ, over and over again.  I went to the radio room to find out that the cat had learned that when he taps the big red knob on my straight key, it makes a sound.  Fortunately, I was in the habit of putting the SB401 in standby when not sitting in front of it (I also had two toddlers at the time) so I was sure I was the only one hearing the "cat call".  Oh, what could have been…

Dang... how do you write THAT one up?

Unidentified transmission?

Broadcasting music?

Indecent and Profane?

No control op?

I kinda like the music angle myself!

Yup !  It happens.  Definitely a PSK31 signal at idle. Blame the cat is a good idea.

Years ago , WB8AWJ in Michigan had a cat in heat and the cat got into radio shack and fell in love with microphone. It was one of those old Turner desk mics with a PTT switch and a locking device.  Well, said cat managed to somehow lock mic in transmit and for the next hour or so the cat was heard worldwide making sounds only a cat in love could make.

Needless to say, my friend moved as far away as possible (ID, I think) as possible !

I've done it in the shop working on repeaters; left them keyed into a dummy load and found them the next day still churning away.

I've heard stuck keyers too... sending dits for days on end.

Whoever it is must not get on the radio much.

I'd blame the cat!
