Go get them Stan!  Sorry I don't have an "I" to hand out and I don't think the scorer would allow you to substitute an "W" for and "I".   But it will be there soon.

Hang in there, Stan - the last one is the most frustrating one!

I saw 3 other "O's" yesterday that could not hear me before I finally scored my last one, a guy that I'd tried for 2 days and was finally able to get.

If I had an "I", I'd sure give it to ya! :-)

Congrats Matt!!  Great dedication, for sure.

I am close behind you.

Rick, N7WE noted after I made the 365+1 award last month that I needed only 8 "N" and 6 "I" calls for WTW.

Based on his challenge, I started to pay attention.

As of last nite I had my 8 "N" calls and needed just ONE more "I" call.

Any "I" call volunteers who have not worked W9SMR yet?

This is such a wonderful hobby!!

Please join me in congratulating Matt - AK4MK - who yesterday completed his Work The World Award Series.  This is a monumental achievement of 9 seperate, ordered awards requiring a total of 2246 QSOs and years to achieve.  Matt completed the first level of this endorsement on Dec. 6, 2013.  He becomes only the 32nd person to complete the entire series since it was introduced July 1, 2012.

Well done Matt!

Re: SOS - Same Old Signal

W7RIV

I've not seen the signal. So, I do not know what it sounds like, or what it looks like. Is it a possibility that it is something else? Some interference that is causing it to look like a carrier? I have seen this topic for weeks now. I have a hard time believing that any rig or power supply would last continuously for this long.

I've setup my station so that when I flip a switch all my radios, power supplies, rotator control box, and desk lap turn off. This allows me to monitor and disconnect them as I need. Mostly for the safety of my equipment, but this is another good reason too it looks like.

Re: From an old PODXS member ...

There was a travelling exhibit at the Norwalk Aquarium several years ago that had artifacts taken from the wreck of the Titanic.  Some were personal effects which really brought the
tragedy home.  What made the biggest impact though was the wall of names of those who were lost at sea.  Very sobering.

They also had a interactive computer simulation showing what the crew saw and when.  It gave you a timed visual and full control of the wheel plus all three engines.  The object was to see if there was any possible way to miss the collision.  Turns out that if certain things were done a bit differently it would have been an extremely close call but they would have gotten by.

Well worth seeing.
