Steve, I'll be back on soon. I was calling CQ and answering calls and no one was answering back. Trust me, my 40 meter antenna setup hoovers (p.c. for sucks). Hopefully I can either get a 40 bazooka or get parts to make a dipole next payday. 73 Jon Greene WX5NCOTulsa, Oklahoma EM26 070 - 592 30DMC - 1233 DMC - 741 EPC - 5134 1010 - 74420

Re: Grids
Steve W3HF
Okay, that's the islands.
N3XM was on St Simons Isl (he was my EM91 and NA-058 in 2007), K8GI on Lanier Isl (2009 and 2013), K4S on Sapelo Isl (2013), and N4XGI and K8CQ (both 2010) live on St Simons. K8CQ's QRZ page says he's happy to QSL NA-058, EM91, or Glynn County via LoTW or direct. Steve W3HF ---In 070@..., <n9avy@...> wrote : Soory ... Have EM81 ... Need EM 91

Re: Welcome
I worked WA5CAM yesterday from Apple Orchard Mtn SOTA W4V/R-001 while messing around with Golden Packet. Welcome to the club and hope to work you again when we can chat.
I was running 40 watts to a Yaesu FT857 using PSKDroid on my Samsung Edge 7 phone with a Wolphilink interface. Used a Buddipole 16ft mast to hold up a 20 meter lightweight dipole. Powered by a solar charged 12aH LiFePO4 battery

Re: ???
Ray Clements
Ham software suites such as Ham Radio Deluxe and DX Labs have gotten so complex that it is hard for anyone to understand all the intricacies. For a newcomer to either of these suites, the learning process can be daunting.
Then there is the old adage that real hams (or perhaps that is real men who are hams) do not read instruction manuals, so we get silly errors such as those noted previously in the thread.

Bill you are so correct .. have been a HRD user since the Simon era and I still refer to the manual. Lots of questions on all the forums are the same just a new day people will not even bother to do a search to see if the answer is before them. I think it is just a symptom of the times we live in. Ask and you shall be answered.
