Loren

I casually chase IOTAs and am pleased to pass on a new contact.
The other morning I worked JE6MCA/JD1 on AS-031
I have been trying for this island since about 2007. This is the 2nd time I have heard it on air
and was pleased to log it.
They are out there - just a challenge to find.

Just finished up the IOTA endorsements, if any more are submitted before June 30, I will try to get to them.  Just a reminder to all that the bottom of your endorsement checker page contains a list of issues with IOTA data in your submitted log.

Red are rejected entries for various reasons, this could be as simple as a formatting error in the entry, or a invalid IOTA.  IOTA format is always xx-nnn (example NA-026) and must be exact or it will be rejected.

Yellow entries are either issues you need to provide us more info on, or they may be reminders to us to manually process the entry, a good example of this is PJ2MI.  We can't automatically process PJ2MI (among others) because the IOTA designator changed due and the QSO dates have to be handled manually.  There are many others that fit this category, but it is always good to verify the data in your log against this listing.

One other reminder, we do not accept QRZ IOTA data on the details page as valid, there must be other information to verify the IOTA info (QRZ bio page info, RSGB IOTA lookup, country of origin, and other sources we check).

Thanks and good luck with all your endorsements.

Chris makes a good point - this is a good time to submit your LOTW and eQSL items as well.

That said, remember that 070 Club awards and endorsements do not require any confirmation (unless specifically requested) outside of your log entry.

Looking forward to starting another "quarter" after the 30 JUNE deadline for this one!

Whoa Barry!  That's a shocker.  Endorsements do get tougher to get the more you get, but I have to think something screwy is going on.  For example, I looked at your upload from Monday and it reports 16,040 QSOs, but not one credit towards any of the 2246 required letters for WTW.  Something is wrong. I'm sure David will be on it as soon as he has a minute.  Twins you know!

Re: 10 Meter Es this Es Season

Hi,
I did WSPR all Es season last year.
It pretty much confirmed what results was being reflected from WSPR were fairly close to what I saw for many years with PropNET.
WSPR is a great system for real time reporting, but for data mining it absolutely sucks.
Dave Donnelly KF6XA, wrote routines to take captures and partials (under very narrow guidelines and rules) from PropNET participants and put the data into a spreadsheet format with calls, Grids, distance, azimuth, and captures by UTC hour from all PropNET reporters (was called Catch Report).
I am a Math Nerd, Degreed, worked in Banking for 30 years and retired as a Math educator. I  can take well organized data from PropNET, mine it, and analyze it under Statistical rules and laws in hours.  It takes too long for WSPR.
After one year, I had no choice but return to PropNET if I wanted to exercise my brain in retirement :)
I have been doing it for too long... hi hi (since 2005).
Putting all this together, I have discovered that Es conditions year to year actually change exponentially and through time follow polynomial trend-lines as things do in Nature.
Anyhow, when I say activity has tripled this year.... you can bank on it.
But I have been wrong before... it just won't cost you money.

Matt

I also followed your lead and closed the quarter on my log and uploaded it. Using VB7150
this year and so far 1135 PSK contacts.

I was shocked to see no new endorsements earned.

Guess I have to spend more hours in the chair till year end.

Will try to give a summary on QSL exchange for that period for those that are interested.

all the best
Barry

If you have multiple calls associated with your 070 member number, remember to combine all of your PSK-31 records for ALL CALLS into one ADI file and submit it using your current call sign.  If you've recently changed call signs and haven't notified us, please do so soon so that you can credit for all of your hard work!

Can't argue with the numbers and I'm hearing some fantastic reports of DX on 6m...but.....  I have to wonder how the new WSJT-X modes figure into these stats.

Joe released Ver 1.7.0 just about the first of the year and it includes MSK144, JT65B-C, and JT9B-H and things have just gone crazy.  Most of what I'm seeing on 6m is one of these new variations.  I'm not seeing much of anything PSK.  In fact, 50.290 where I used to see PSK is now virtually all WSJT modes.  The thing about the new modes is the fast exchange - you can run JT9E clear down to 5 second TX!  Old JT65A required 48 second TX. That makes the new modes ideal for Es.  Joe and group have reported they are working on fast turn versions that will allow customized exchange (rather than the spec'd pro forma) making them suitable for contesting.  My guess is that PSK doesn't have a future on 6m.

Endorsements : Alaska & Hawaii

Jerry N9AVY

Careful when applying for these; especially if your log has auto-fill.  (That is,  if it sees a KL7 of KH6 call , it automatically fills in Alaska or Hawaii. )

There are many KL7 & KH6  call that are stateside  (For example:   AL7MH is in Arizona.  I've worked him and he sends AZ in his macro. )

So, don't always believe what log tells you.

Thanks.
