Re: 070 Club Upcoming Sticker/Endorsement Mailing

Oh, no, Chris - The 070 Club is alive and well - we're growing by leaps and bounds, as a matter of fact!

I just meant that we're "closing the books" on the "quarter" basically.

I do have certificates to catch up on, but I didn't know that one was missing. I'll get 'er done for ya!

If anybody else is missing certificates, please let me know. All of this year's and last year's contest certificates are pending, but anything outside of that, I'd sure like to be notified of....

We're going to close the books on 30 June, and start mailing stickers about the middle of July.

That means that you'll want to go ahead and submit your ENTIRE PSK-31 logs to the automatic checker before the end of the month, and submit ALL of your awards for processing/approval.

If you have multiple calls associated with your 070 member number, remember to combine all of your PSK-31 records for ALL CALLS into one ADI file and submit it using your current call sign.  If you've recently changed call signs and haven't notified us, please do so soon so that you can credit for all of your hard work!

Re: The HB Challenge 2-Meters

Hi Pete,
Yes 144.150 MHz plus 1.500 Hz.
I figure it won't upset the WSJT Gang, in turn upsetting me.
I will tune downward if the band opens up on Es.
We are expecting a fiery temperature weekend here in Arizona up in the High Desert.

Re: The HB Challenge 2-Meters

Pete, 144.150 is the 2m freq.

On occasion, I’ve used 144.144. with your bandpass filter open you should see any activity on either freq.

I’ve been playing around on that freq. for a few years.

Field Day, club demonstrations, emcomm drills etc.

I don’t know anything about x-mitting up 1.5 kc.

I’ve just never crossed paths with that.

Art,

Do you mean 144.150 MHz transmit on or having the radio on 144.150 MHz and transmitting 1.5 KHz up?  I see folks on the lower bands up about 1.5 KHz.

Hi all,
I plan to play a little this weekend.
Besides being on 10 Meters and 6 Meters, I will also put out a signal on 2-Meter USB.
To my knowledge, no one has ever agreed on a 2-Meter PSK31 SSB operating frequency.
I will operate on 144.150 MHz USB during the event.
I will work on both vertical and horizontal polarization (horizontal preferred). If we get Es, it doesn't matter.

Now that we are in a week of the Summer Solstice, Es are possible any day on 2-Meters around it. Good local enhancement and some good Tropo ducting also occurs.
I did make 200 mile 2-Meter QSOs with limited power back in North Texas (DFW) and 165 mile 2-Meter PropNET catches with 15 watts here in Arizona.

I hope for some activity and luck.

2017 070 Club June High Band (2m/6m/10m) Challenge

Matthew King <mrk.twg@...>

Next Contest: June High Band (2m/6m/10m) Challenge

DATE: 1400UTC 17 JUN - 1400UTC 18 JUN 2017 6/24hr blk

CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO

Logs are due the 21st of June, ONE week after the contest!

This is basically the "VHF Challenge" that we had the last two years, but renamed a bit more appropriately.

This past weekend's ARRL VHF Contest was going like gangbusters in this area, with constant farflung openings on 6m as well as 10m.  Not many people use 2m around here, so I'm not sure how it was.  Hopefully they'll all be open this weekend as well!

Even if these aren't bands that you usually play on, give it a try - when open, these bands are so much fun and a good way to net some really cool contacts!
