Re: The Rumble

As a dedicated QRP'er on PSK (orginally not by choice,
used a PSK-20, now with TS-570DG by choice)with poor
attic antennas, the best advice for seeing weak
stations: 1)PLEASE turn off the squelch - worst
invention in ham software; 2) Use the spectrum display
not the waterfall - faster and more sensitive. I use
Hamscope 1.4 in always contest mode but as always your
mileage will vary. Great contest. Thanks to everyone
listening to this peanut whistle and cards will be on
the way.

Why don't some of you psk'ers get better
spectacles next time! I spent far
too much
valuable time pushin' buttons at people with bad
eyesight and not seeing
my trace
from 10000 miles away. I worked Dick in Scotland
and he was running 2
watts and a
cb antenna! He was just playin' around and gotta
hellava surprise when I
answered
him! I even gave the opposition some help by
workin' ol' Jay!
Thanks to all those guys and gals who gave me a
macro, and made my score
respectable,
(over 20 grand!)
73s and see ya on my screen!

Had a great time in the Fall Rumble. It was nice to work some of the you from last time and some new ones this time. I finally got to work a SV on 15M, I thought for awhile that they stayed off of that band so I could not get the SV-Tri Band. I had to really work at that one. It was nice to work the other Teams and most of you on the Team I was on. I even had a few ragchews and told a few others about the Rumble and gave the address out so they could try it out next time. Good Luck to all and may the best team win, The 070 Busters.

Did you know you can up load your Digipan log to www.eqsl.cc??
just export the log as a ADI file and you can up load the whole thing to
the
data base so the people that like the e-cards are real happy.

I use e-qsl cards but I still like the old cards the best and look better
on
the wall.

Good Luck to Everyone I did a lot better than last year by 2000 points and the Baloon worked OK but the cold air put the 80 feet of wire in the trees at night and in the AM it was up in the air again I may try this again next time with a bigger baloon and more wire in the air

Hi Jay,

What da ya know? RTTY-ing huh? Hihi I was doing the same thing, just playing around with some software I had downloaded a while back, when I did see your call come by on the screen....N3DQU on RTTY? Testing?
I just had to say hi, and by doing so, made my 1st QSO attempt on RTTY. Didn't go too bad, did it? Was a bit shaky, but that happens during all 1st times I heard..hihi TNX fer 1st time QSO, Jay!
I will have to spend some more time playing with this software to feel more comfortable, Like you said, Digipan has spoiled me rotten....
If there is anyone who has experience working with MMRTTY,and can hand out some tips, it would be greatly appreciated...I am just wandering off into Soundcard based software world, .......
See you all in the Rumble Folks! Beware of the DOG(s), fellas!
Have fun es GL to you all ! 73 de John KC0DEB

Was it good for you John?

N3DQU@...

...Ok ok...I'll tell you how it happened...I was checking out my stuff ya
know, for the Rumble and all...and I had this MMTTY program on the computer
that I had downloaded awhile ago, and...next thing I knew, I was calling CQ
on 20m! I really don't know what came over me! Anyways, I was calling CQ and
all, and here comes an answer back...KC0DEB of all people, a fellow psker es
070 Club member to boot! Well, I had never wrked rtty before and neither had
John, so I guess you could say we were both virgins when it came to this
mode...So what I want to know is John, was it good for you? I mean, I gave up
smoking 15 years ago, but to tell you the truth, after our QSO I really
needed a smoke! Know what I mean?? N3DQU.
