Hi Rick – I need tonight beginning 11:00 p.m. Pacific which translates to
Thursday 07:00 UTC and then as late as I can manage to stay up and still make
contacts. Probably not much past midnight, so 07:00 and 08:00 UTC would be
enough. That would earn me 3 filled slots for the day.
Paula,

Looking at your chart, I see you need to start at 06:00 UTC, not 07:00 for
Thursday. I think your calculations may be off by an hour.

Oops!  Sorry Paula.  I forgot there will be grandkids bunking in the "radio room" tonight.  "Over the river and thru the woods to grandmothers house....."  So I'm QRT until Sunday.  Hope you fill a lot of slots this Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and the entire 070 group.  I personally have a lot to be thankful for...not the least of which is being born in the USA.  God Bless America!

DX stuff

Jerry N9AVY

Got this from OPDX Bulletin. Looks like fairly rare stuff coming up on PSK (hopefully).  Happy hunting !

-  N9avy

3B8, MAURITIUS. Operators Jan/SM6GOR and Johnny/SM6JBC are now active as
3B8HB and 3B8JB, respectively, from Mauritius Island (AF-049) until
December 11th. Activity will be on 40-10 meters using CW, RTTY, PSK and
some SSB. QSL via their home callsign, direct or by the Bureau.

8Q, MALDIVES. Members of the Russian "Ural Contest Group" (UCG) will be
active as 8Q7DV from the Maldives (AS-013) during the CQWW DX CW Contest
(November 28-29th) possibly All-Bands, but most probably only part time.
Operators mentioned are Vadim/R9DX and Igor/UA9CDC. Activity outside of
the contest will be limited because they have planned some other activities
not linked to ham radio. The main purpose is to give out zone and country
contacts to other participants. Their somewhat activity before and after
the contest will be on CW, SSB and RTTY or PSK using a K3 and KX3 with
an Expert 1.3K-FA linear amp. QSL via UA8DX, direct or by the Bureau.

CE0Y, EASTER ISLAND. Operators Yan/RZ3FW and Sergey/R4WAA will be active
as CE0Y/RZ3FW and CE0Y/R4WAA, respectively, from Cabanos Honu Nui, Easter
Island (SA-001), between November 24th and December 2nd. Activity will be
holiday style on 160-10 meters using mainly CW with some SSB and the Digital
modes
. QSL via ClubLog's OQRS is preferred for direct or Bureau.

DU, PHILIPPINES (IOTA/Contest Op/Update). Operators Serge/R7KW, Oleg/YL3JM
and Rustam/RU6K will be active from the Philippines between November
21-30th. Callsigns will be DU1/R7KW  and DU1/YL3JM. Activity will be
holiday style mainly from Mindoro Island, Luzon's Coast Islands (OC-244),
and maybe 1-2 days from Lubang Islands Group (OC-126). Their operations
will be on 160-6 meters using CW, SSB and the Digital modes. Serge, R7KW,
will be in the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 28-29th) signing DU1/YL3JM as
a Single-Op/All-Band entry. Oleg, YL3JM, will also be in the CQWW DX CW
Contest (November 28-29th) signing DU1/YL3JM as a Single-Op/Single-Band
(??m) entry. QSL both callsigns via K2PF (OQRS on ClubLog is the better
way).

AS-079.  Take, JS6RRR/JI3DST, will once again be active as JS6RRR from
Miyako Island between 0700z, December 25th and 0000z, January
4th. Activity (usually) will be on 40/30/20/17/15/12/10/6
meters using CW, SSB, FM, RTTY and PSK31. Operations may vary
in case of heavy rains or other conditions. QSL routes are
as follows: JS6RRR by the Bureau using his home callsign
JI3DST. Via the Bureau is best. Please check QRZ.com for
more details or his Web page at: http://blog.goo.ne.jp/ji3dst
ADDED NOTE: Take will use the special callsign 8N3KCJ/6 from
Miyako Island at various time between December 26-31st. This
activity is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the "Keymen's
Club of Japan". QSL via JO3OMA.

J5, GUINEA-BISSAU. Livio, IZ3BUR, is once again active as J52HF from
the Cumura Hospital in Guinea Bissau until December 10th. Operators
Libero/IK3RBE and Milena/IK3VZJ will also be there. Activity will be
limited to his spare time, mainly on 20/15/10/6 meters using SSB and
PSK31. QSL via I3LDP. The log will be uploaded to ClubLog's OQRS when
he returns to Italy. For info about QSO/QSL, send an E-mail to:
                            veronadxteam@...
For more details about the J52HF team, visit:
            http://www.ari.verona.it/veronadxteam/en/index.htm

VP6, PITCAIRN ISLAND (Also FO). Uli, DL2AH, will be active as VP6AH from
Pitcairn Island during later in 2016 between September 3rd and November
25th. Activity will be holiday style on 40-10 meters using SSB and the
Digital modes. Operations will be 100 watts + Triple Leg or Windom antenna.
QSL via his home callsign direct only. ADDED NOTE: Uli will also be active
as FO/DL2AH from Mangareva/Gambier Island (OC-063), and probably TO2AH or
TX2AH, some days before his VP6AH operation.

XV, VIETNAM (Update). Mats,  RM2D (SM6LRR), will be active as XV2D from
Phan Tiet between November 23rd and December 5th. Activity will be holiday
style, but he will make a serious effort for the CQWW DX CW Contest
(November 28-29th). Entry category will be defined later [possibly
SB 40m or 15m or AB (problems to erect 80 and 160 meters antennas at
that location)]. Activity before and after the contest will be holiday
style mainly on CW, SSB, and possibly some Digital modes, on 40-10 meters
including the 30/17/12m bands. QSL via LoTW or direct to SM6LRR. NO
Bureau QSLs.

It looks like there is still some activity there so I will keep an eye out for one of the stations  Thanks again,

Thx Jordi -- I added that one to our exception list (for the actual checker logic; I'm not applying the exception logic to that stats page).
There's a lot of bad data in people's logs for supposed Antarctica stations .. e.g. I see on that list that someone logged W1AW/3 as CONT=AN !
I know that Matt makes sure to double-check the QSO info when approving any Antarctica stickers.

On the endorsement checker, there's a "Database Statistic" link that includes recent eligible qso's for a lot of the endorsements ... So you can see the last few Q's for a specific country (e.g. for South America endorsement) or province (maple leaf), etc.

I'm glad this came up, because
  a) that page hasn't been regenerated since the summer
  b) did not include antartica endorsement
Both of have been rectified!

This will jump right to the recent Antarctica QSO's:
It shows two searches -- one by DXCC of CE9,  and other by CONT=AN.   Unfortunately, there's a decent amount of logging inconsistencies with Antarctica stations.

Hamspots is a good resource, too --  http://hamspots.net/dxcc_lotw/
Shows the bands/modes/calls that have been active in last few days.   At the moment, shows DP1POL and RI1ANZ  on cw/ssb/jt65,  on 20,40,160,  from last few days.

Hi Jim,

I have 5 contacts with R1ANC, a club station, on all 20m, bpsk31, between 2243 zulu & 0213 zulu, and in Sept., Oct., & Nov., and all in 2009.

I’ve worked others there since then, but in cw.

Not much help as my last Q with that entity was with a ZL station in 2011.

Gud luck.
