Many years ago I had a service call/tour of the Richard tube factory in LaFox (IL) and saw all the machines they used to make the tubes . Unfortunately, the were ak\ll being crated up for shipment to Russia (1990's) and that factory was to be no more. It was around that time I first heard the name Svetlana... coincidence ?

It was a nice tour, but I didn't fully appreciate it.

 Milt,
They are kept on-site as emergency backup. Usually we run them down close to legal limit and then replace with new. That way if we have a tube failure we can make an emergency swap and still maintain legal power.Right now we have two of them for WEDW-FM in Stamford. We used to use Svetlana tubes but they are no longer made. We got incredible mileage out of them by just lowering the filament voltage a bit.
We are not the only one's that have Harris Z16's. WSHU-FM and WEZN-FM are both co-located at the same site as our WEDW DT41 TV transmitter. The CE's have both said that they love them. They are made very well and they have saved us money in maintenance costs for sure.

Never a failure! Dependability is what mattered as I was in some real hell holes. Cabinda, Angola, Nigeria, North Slope of AK., and the list goes on. Of course I was in some nice places too, and that was the rule, not the exception. It was great to have gear that really worked well. For the actual survey, we used Cubic navigation beacons made in San Diego. That’s the same folks that manufactured Swam ham radios. Also used were Motorola Mini-Rangers which operated in the 490 MHz. range and were used for calibration of the Cubic Auto-Ranging Grid Overlay (ARGO) systems. Back to reality, it’s nice to know that Harris gear is still in use. What do you do with the pull-out tubes? JMilt.N6MG070-650LONP #76 From: 070@yahoogroups.com [mailto:070@yahoogroups.com]

Not sure if you can participate, but we would be delighted if you could participate. Using your own call is fine. The club will activate NE0QP also for this weekend. This year we will cover the panhandle and the northern counties really well, but need someone to activate the southern counties especially along the border with Kansas. Hope you could find the time to activate one or more of them that weekend. PSK31 would be a great mode to use. So more than any particular counties, we are trying to get those counties activated that were not activated in the April NE QSO Party. Most along the KS-NE border were not activated in April, and so any of those would be dynamite or us. An announcement will appear in the Oct QST and more details can be found at www.qcwa.org/chapter025.htm or on the NE0QP page at QRZ.com. Fred Eriksen, KB0LFMurray, NEQCWA Chapter025 Board Member

Thanks for the info about ClubLog. I went to my Settings > Callsigns and that is where I found my call was hidden. I'm not sure how that occurred as I have been a regular user of ClubLog since I signed up years ago and I upload at least once a month with over 10,000 PSK31 QSOs logged. Last uploaded on 01SEP2015.

Anyway, thanks for the assistance and my info should be visible by tomorrow.

Happy Radio!

Bill - here's what I see:

When I click on your call, I see all of your details.

Maybe it needed a refresh or something? If you click and don't see it, trying refreshing the page or clearing the cache in your browser.

Hello,

I signed up as a member of PODXS 070 Club in my ClubLog account a couple of weeks ago. See attachment. When I go to Club Leagues and click on the 070 Club link, it says there are 26 members signed up. When I open the link, it says there are 24 members. My call does not show up in the 070 league info. I'm probably one of the two that is missing. I have regularly updated with ClubLog and use it all of the time to assist with QSLing. Any clue why I am not showing up in the 070 Club stats? I probably did not check a box or something....

Thanks and 73!

He was like the “ol reliable”… If it got close to the top of the hour, he pulled me through!
Also a special note to KE4JB and KD0FIP (Now AD0QO) who also helped to fill a bunch of holes.
So now that that is complete, I am going to find a room, dark, cool, and snuggle in a bed with my Yorkies and not exit for up to 2 days – with exception of taking the little guys outside then back to bed.. hi hi!!
Many, Many thanks to all!!

Thanks to all.., Now I can officially hoot… Join the owl who has taken up residence in the tree near my house… maybe even converse with him now…

I see 5 “across the pond” recipients for thev24/7. So yep, it’s possible! Remember, one does not have to be a 070 member to make the contact valid.

Congrats!!

It's really neat to see the interest in this ... crazy, but neat :)

Now, from the guy to "blame" for all this -- go get some sleep!!

hey, you're actually #19, not #20! There's a junk log (typo'd call) in there i need to delete.

So .... who's going to be #20 ?!?!?

I wish to thank all the 070 members who helped me pull off the 24/7 endorsement… finally. Trust me, not for the faint of heart especially when the bands do not play nicely.

I also need to make a special shout out to VA3TPS – Steve – who assisted me greatly in filling many, many of my holes when no other sigs were present, as well as hopefully I helped him fill a few of his open ones.
