That was the TI-99-4A.  Had one myself.  At one point they were 99.00 then dropped to 49.00, and then they couldnt give them away.

Hey, I started with a TS-120 for PSK. It worked great. It was a bit
like driving stick instead of automatic, but still got the job done. :-)

Re: TS-50

Robert,

I still have my Osborne 1 computer!

Just after I bought it, I sent it back for the latest upgrade:

The installation of a double sided, double density disc drive! WOW!

Man, I was stylin’ for sure!

I get it out 1 or 2 times a year to turn it on, then scratch my head and wonder, “What was I thinkin?”, when I bought it. Ha Ha.

I paid a lot more for it than I paid for my Double Wazoo Win 8.1 Dell “main frame” as I call it.

I’ve got my way-back machine in high gear tonight!

Milt.

So you are saying it was a lot more enjoyable and you had way more control over the rig with the old model ?

Think I may have asked this question before, but I heard a station was using a TS-50 with a Tigertronics USB, but didn't get his call.

So, is anyone out there using a Kenwood TS-50  ???

The dates of the KC9UR Pontoon Portable APE have been finalized to be starting Monday afternoon, Aug 24 through Wednesday afternoon, Aug 26th.  Stan (W9SMR/9) and I are looking forward to the event and to working a lot of 070ers.  As in past years we will be offering a nice QSL card, plus, for those persistent enough to work us on three bands, a nice certificate.  We plan to operate on 40m - 6m.

Milt - please update the dates on your APE list - thanks!

Re: Turkey on

Bill Williams

This is a reply to all the emails.

I had pretty good quantity of signals today on 20M today but very limited time.  We were in a flood situation here with rain for the last 20 days.  In between monitoring the sump pump and sweeping water out of the garage I would look at the computer screen DX stations.  I had no time to chat so DX was the name of the game for today.

In any case 20M was busy but I only got 4 contacts, Lithuania, England, Spain and Italy.  10M only had two signals but only one answered me, Uruguay.  15M yielded two, Turkey and Brazil.  I answered the English station on 15M that covered the Turkey station but got no response.
