Re: TDW Log

Matthew King <mrk.twg@...>

Dan - you've got your address in the comment field. The scorer looks in the comments for the exchange info if it doesn't find it in the SRX field.

Here's one of your records:
KJ8O
20150522
021000
40M
JOSEPH B MILLER - 6928 FOREST PARK CT - TROY, MI 48098
...
1244
<070#:4>1244
...
You'll want to rename your "070#" field to "SRX" instead. You can do that to "Other3" instead if it always has the 070 # in it and you're wanting to keep the "070#" for some reason.
Good luck with it - holler if you need more help!

Interesting Callsign Archive Tool at HamCall.net

Mike Flowers

Hi Gang,

I found an interesting research tool for old callsigns recently while trying to find some information for a friend.

HamCall.net has online callsign archives for the years 1921, 1954, 1960, 1969, 1983 and 1995 to present.

You can easily construct a URL to look up a callsign in a particular year as shown below.  In the example below, I am looking for the address of my Elmer, Dan Sullivan, WB2PED, in the 1969 archive:

http://hamcall.net/call/WB2PED:1969

If I wanted to check in the 1983 archive, the URL would look like this:

http://hamcall.net/call/WB2PED:1983

I even found who held my callsign in 1960:

http://hamcall.net/call/K6MKF:1960

This is a good resource if you know the callsign and the year.

- 73 and good DX de Mike, K6MKF, President - NCDXC

FWIW, I worked a few ops during the contest and I know that DE is a tough one for some seeking WAS.  If you are one of those Ops, I will be happy to QSL.  My info is good on QRZ.com with instructions.  eQSLs were sent out to all contacts during the contest.  Great contest.  Thanks to all organizers and participants.  73, Len K3LRH in "Delawhere?"

I just resubmitted my log and the checker has found all the new calls that were previously rejected.  Steve was right..  Patience is the answer and all is up to date now.   Resubmit your ADIF files and you will get credit for the new club members.

The entries did not meet the log requirements (50 unique PSK31 contacts) and are sitting in the rejected file.  They did not get a member number and I cannot approve them because of software and club requirements. That is being addressed as soon as David has the chance to get to it.  All those applicants were sent an auto email that explained the requirements and what they will have to do to update their application to meet the minimum standards for joining.  Those are the rules as they now stand and have been in force since the beginning.

This is all I am asking… Patience, I have lots of. I agree with you that contest submission is nice. I have no issue with it just wanted clarification.

BTW: I uploaded “early” as my almost 30 hours of calling contest CQ had ended for me so thus I uploaded, and went to bed.

John -

Please be patient. Those QSOs will count. Just allow time for the software bots to catch up with each other. Submitting your entry before the contest is even over means the bots can't possibly catch up with folks who are just joining now.

And even if David tells everyone to upload again, that's so much easier than the way we (and all other contest organizations) used to have to submit contest entries.

It is really sad that those who cry and whine the loudest about contesters probably never gave a thought that many of the advances in antenna design, radio design, you name it came from the contesters who wanted/demanded better performance from their equipment. I am not the biggest contester out there, but I do enjoy my Icom 7410 with it's twin pass band filters, 9 levels of audio filters going all the way to 250, and I can make it even smaller if I also use the notch filter. I could go on all afternoon. Granted there are a lot of radios better than mine, but what incentive is there for the equipment manufacturers to make better equipment if the anti-contest CB's (cty babies) have their way.
