Re: Miscellaneous Ramblings
Happy New Year to all ! Bill.... loved some of those comments ! Got a couple laughs. Have seen some of that over the past year. Perhaps it's time to send actual signal reports like "111" or "222' ...some of them are that good a copy ! Some of the stuff that comes across the screen is really laughable, but we must remember that DX stations have a limited Engrish vocabulary and give them credit for trying. But sometimes it's just rotten propagation
that causes "hits & misses" and gives some words an entirely different meaning. But it is funny. Off the air for a while with station rebuilding and more coax problems. 73, Jerry N9AVY From: "Bill Garwood n4gbk@... 2015 PSKFest
Matthew King - KK4CPS <mrk.twg@...>
It's coming up quick, y'all! This year's PSKFest is 0000Z-2400 UTC, Saturday, 03 January 2015. This year we're combining the single-band and multi-band QRP categories for the PSKFest. Please let us know on the lists if there's a desire for both categories so that we can determine if we need to keep both for all of contests in the future. We certainly encourage QRP activity of any sort! We will also remove the "single op only" restraint so that clubs may participate. If there is a desire for a multi-op category for this and other contests, please let us know on the lists so that we can determine if we need to formally implement a multi-op category. The automatic scorer is the official log submission method for all of our contests from this point on! No more hand-scoring or custom excel work!! You can see the results from last year's PSKFest as well as many other contests now. The 2015 PSKFest submission link will be live by contest day. Here's the link to the scorer page: http://hamclubs.info/scorer/ We had 97 logs entered last year. Please tell all of your friends about the PSKFest - let's see if we can't increase that number by 50% or so! :-) The contest arena is swirling with upcoming news: we've listened to all sorts of feedback and have some very exciting changes and updates (some minor & some major) and even a couple of additions all coming very soon. We'll soon debut our new trophies for the Top Dog position in each of our ten contests, as well as the inaugural Rollo Cup Championship Series! That's all I can say right now, but stay tuned as it's going to be great fun! Let's kick off the 2015 PODXS 070 Contest Season right with a record breaking PSKFest! Please, everybody have just as much fun with it as you can possibly stand! 73 y'all Matt King KK4CPS 070 #1708 070 Club Management Team

Goodby 2014, Welcome 2015
Time to start a new year but also time to look back at the past year and marvel at the fun I had. A total of 844 PSK contacts, most PSK31 but a few other digital modes to keep interest. I planned more but then don’t we all. I expected to get some awards done but didn’t. With all the South American stations I see I thought Argentina would be a snap but it turned out that I got more Chile than Argentina. Brazil and Venezuela are a dime a dozen but Argentina remains undone. TripleDouble is certainly doable but both Dakotas eluded me. I looked for W3HF but never got that one either.
My wife already thought I was crazy but getting up in the middle of the night all those times to make the 24x7 contacts proved it. I don’t know why that was fun but it was. A few more IOTAs and LONP contacts always makes me happy too.
On to 2015. Lots more islands and LONP contacts to be made. New special awards for the year waiting to start. And with the current progress I have another three years to finish Work The World. How can there be so many Cs and D,s F’s and W’s but no I’s and N’s? Lastly I have the various PSK contests to look forward to. Looks like a good year coming on.
Happy New Years and 73, Bill AG4QX #398
