I am not a big time operator but have used the Signalink USB for a number of years now. It is great for digital modes and the only trouble I ever had was a lightening strike once.
The Signalink USB has a great soundcard as far as I know and does a good job.
I used a Rascal before the signalink and found it to be a cheap but good interface.

Hi Jerry

This may be the one:

Unsure of its price.  I use a Sound Blaster ($20),  SignaLink ($80), and microKEYER.

Hi Jerry,

I use a Behringer UCA222 which is essentially the same as the
UCA202 except for the color and software bundle. It seems to
work well for me. The offset is zero when run at an even
division of 48k. It doesn't have an input mixer control, but I
haven't found that to be a problem. It uses RCA phono jacks
instead of the more typical 3.5 mm phone plugs, but adapters are
cheap.

I've used it with FLDigi and MMSSTV with good results.

Re: sound cards

Tim Richardson <groupsrichart@...>

There are tons of sound cards out there. Many are the same and just re-branded under a different name with a different color case so shop prices and specs.

I purchased an Encore ENMAB-8CM USB sound card a few months ago on Amazon.com and have had really good luck with it. Much better performance than the built-in sound card on my motherboard. It has both microphone and line inputs as well has speaker and headphone outputs. Less than a quarter of a C note.

I use it for PSK and RTTY. Best of luck on your search!

For those of you using MixW, I just discovered that wishing someone a "Happy Turkey Day" produces a Turkish flag after "Turkey" .. .  ha-ha !    Guess it's better to stick with "Happy Thankgiving" !

Just love all the little quirks of MixW !

Re: IMD METER BY KK7UQ

Ivor-

Mine sits on a shelf about 12 inches above the transceiver and computer.  Picks up the RF from my vertical about 30 feet away - but won't grab a signal from 12 inches of coax and my dummy load!  These are nice kit and for me, works beautifully!  You'll be glad you have it!

Re: IMD METER BY KK7UQ

I had mine about six inches above the back of the radio using velcro tape on the bottom of the shelf above.  The FS (field strength) meter setting will let you know if you have an acceptable signal.

Re: What is going on with the 20m and 40m?

Joseph Miller <kj8o.ham@...>

HI Kent,

I have noticed for about the last week or so, that 40 meters seems  to go "long" at about 0100 UTC. I checked into a net one night and couldn't hear anybody within 800 miles of me.  It's the times like this that I am thankful I bought the Hustler 5BTV.

Hope this helps....
