I wrote a new PSK package based on the AE4JY DLL and I'm looking for people to test out a beta.  Could you tell me where to post this for curious PSKers to see?

Re: China Clipper

In a message dated 7/30/2001 5:05:39 PM Eastern Daylight Time,

I have only seen four BVs on the air from here in CA, and only got two of
them. So it will probably be a while before that endorsement gets claimed.
Well, if it turns out that I overestimated the amount of PSK activity
coming from Taiwan, we can modify the requirements for that endorsement so
that at least one ends up on the wall! Jay N3DQU.

I have only seen four BVs on the air from here in CA, and only got two of them. So it will probably be a while before that endorsement gets claimed. Unfortunately for my family, though, I'll probably have enough time out here in the next 3 months to try, but that's another story.

Hello All,
My local club is going to be operating from an island off the coast of Connecticut. (IOTA  NA136, US Islands CT008) This island is, usually, only active with this group and has not been active for a several years. I will be operating PSK and plan to be there as much as possible. I will provide more details as the time nears but the tentative date is the first weekend of October.

Re: PSK From IOTA NA136

Please post the info when it is available I am sure the group will
provide a lot of contacts.

TDW and stuff

Just wanted to let everybody know that all of the TDW certificates are
finally in the mail whew! Thanks to all who waited patiently for their
endorsements and upgrades while we dealt with the extra workload, and thanks
to all the 070 participants who made our very first on-the-air event a great
success. Here's to next year's TDW!

BTW, you should know that we are planning another contest, tentatively
scheduled for this coming January. While the rules are still more or less in
the works, it is pretty much a sure thing that it is going to be your
standard, 24 hour PSK contest with power classes, etc. But unlike the TDW,
the January contest is going to be open to everyone, not just to 070 Club
members. So it will be interesting to see how much activity we can scare up
outside our group. We have also added a little wrinkle for the QRPer's in
this one, with power class entries for QRP single-band and QRP multi-band.
Hopefully this will give the kitbashers out there a better chance to show off
what they can do with their monoband rigs!

If you have an itch for contesting however, you do not have to wait for
January to scratch it! QRP-ARCI is hosting an End of Summer Sprint in
September, the TARA Rumble Fall Classic is scheduled for October, and the
first annual Anatolian AKA PSK contest is up for November (endorsement in the
works). Links for all of these contests can be found on the 070 Club webpage
at < >.

One final reminder that the Latvian Radio Amateur League is celebrating
the 800th anniversary of Riga, the capital city of Latvia by offering a
certificate for working YL800 stations from 01 July 2001 until 30 September
2001. I have also been working with Andris YL2FD to come up with an
endorsement for working YL800 PSK31 stations. Although the endorsement
requirements and graphics are still in the works, my best advice to you is to
work any YL800 stations you hear on PSK, then standby for further info on the
endorsement...73 de Jay N3DQU.

W4TMM sent in a small write-up of how they did in this year's Field Day
event...Check it out at the 070 Club website < > ...73 de Jay N3DQU.

Steve W3HF

I'll be heading back out to California tomorrow, and operating (when
I have time) from the Lockheed Martin club station in Sunnyvale. It
has been reported that they now have a Rigblaster hooked up to a
Yaesu FT-1000D. (Their antennas are pretty nice, too.) Assuming I
can figure out how they're set up, I may be able to get on the
WARC bands. And from my experience there last month, I expect
the signal from the station to do quite well. (My three watt PSK-20
was 599 into VK, FK, JA, and BX.)

I'll be out there until 3 August. So keep your eyes open for
W3HF/6, and maybe I'll even be able to get on the other bands.

P.S. If you want to check out the station, there's a web site at

P.P.S. Could someone forward to me the "standard" PSK
frequencies for the other bands? I've never paid much attention
since I am single-band at home. Thanks.

email forwarding services

Just a reminder that if you have signed up for the 070 reflector using an
email forwarding service like ARRL as your email address (e.g., then you may not be able to post messages to the reflector.
If that is the case, send an email to with your callsign and
home email address and I'll getcha fixed up! 73 de Jay N3DQU.

Re: ...where a microphone is a great doorstop!

John Penezic <ag4cz@...>

Gee y'all gonna embarrass me. Actually glad to see the response to the forms. It is actually kinda fun putting them together. Hope they prove to be helpful for everyone else. I sure enjoy being able to pull them up and see exactly where I stand and what I need, without searching the logbook and sorting stuff out, and comparing to criteria, and get the idea.
While it is true that you won't find me on any of them fone nets, you may occasionally hear my voice during a contest (after I get all the cobwebs out of the mic). I do sometimes make the PSK nets on 40 though.
Jay, you must have been watching when I got my 300 sticker. It was awful embarrassing when the neighbors came out and saw me chasing the xyl around the backyard. Especially when I tripped up in the radials laid out in the yard. hi hi.
If anyone has an idea for a web form just let me know.
Well have fun with 'em and where is everyone on the WARC bands????

Well, how did you guys do on 30m Friday nite? I saw a lot of traces out
there, but had pretty rough copy due to strong QRN fm local t-storm
I did manage to work K6CEG out in southern California, but Charlie's sigs
weren't nearly as good as they were the week before. Props were better
the other way towards Europe, where I managed to work CT4MS over in
Leonel had a pretty strong signal into the eastern US and he gave me a 59,
either he felt sorry for me or else the band really was open towards
Friday nite hi! So anybody else making headway on the Tri-WARC? de Jay
