Re: Discussion Topic: What's your rarest confirmed PSK31 DX contact?

Hi John,

Yes, 'rare' is a very subjective and local term. KH6 is a great one from
G-land!

I was working as KH6/K6MKF on 20M CW in April .

Hi,
It's all a bit relative because rare from here is probably not rare from the
States.
However, my first ever KH6 qso (any mode after 29 years as a ham) resulted
in a card from KH6CW for a 15m PSK contact, May 2011.
(30 watts into a MA5B at sea-level).

Hi Gang,

For me, it's got to be AX/VK0TH, Trevor, on Macquarie Island. I had my

tower and beam down at the time, and worked him with 20W on 20M with a

sloping dipole. I just got his card back from the ARRL card checker and

thought I'd toss this question out there.

Mike,

Australia is probably not considered rare but my QSO with VK5NE is rare enough fer me.
Since I only use 1.5W  "really rare" DX comes along very seldom.( I can't always work everything that I hear. HI)
I am waiting on a card from C31PP - Andorra.  Does that count???

070'ers,

Lots of QRN with deep fades on 20m this morning but did notice:

VK7KT - Tasmainia 14071.5 calling CQ @ 11:25 UTC IOTA 006
FR5MV - Reunion Isl 14071.8 calling CQ @11:48 UTC
Both were too weak for me to work but maybe someone else had better luck?

I'm in CT but it's not uncommon to find Oceana on at 9-10pm at night this time of year, but the band has been open late on the east coast (I heard a ZL in CT at midnight - 9pm west coast) so it might be open later for you guys as well.  Members of the San Diego DX Club have been posting about late 20M openings to EU, so stay up late and look for DX!

I'm hoping it holds up for the EU PSK DX contest this weekend!  I have no interface but may run with someone else who does out here.

Cheers,

I have created a file of the complete set of currently active members right up through #1519 for users of MixW software. For those who are not familiar this file (when used in conjuction with MixW) indicates which callsigns are 070 Club members - live - while they are on the air. It is similar to some other files on offer in the Files section but is far more current than the others.

I quite like MixW (I think it works great for PSK) but I acknowledge that there may not be many other users of that software. Would it be worthwhile my posting the file so it can be shared by other users? I'd be interested to know if there are many who still use MixW. Please make an indication if you think I should post this file - which I would keep updated if there is demand.
