Just my opinion, but if he's physically located in Spain, with a
call issued by the Spain's FCC, or whatever version of that they use
in Spain, then it should count for Spain.
I checked and the AO prefix is issued in Spain.

Ivor -

The endorsement rules say "Secondary/special prefixes as well as EA6, EA8 and EA9 are also good for this endorsement." So as long as the station is in Spain, the AO1 prefix is good.

Subject: [The Daily DX] ARRL Publishes New Guidelines for 60 Meters

The following is from the ARRL Website:

Thanks to the FCC Report and Order issued November 18, 2011, amateurs
will enjoy a number of new privileges on the 60 meter band beginning
March 5, including a boost in effective radiated power from 50 to 100
W,
as well as the ability to use CW and certain digital modes.

Late last year, the ARRL HF Band Planning committee surveyed 60 meter
operators to gather opinions about how to best use the new privileges.
On the subject of creating a specific band plan, the survey results
indicated little consensus beyond the fact that 5403.5 kHz should
retain
its status as a de facto "DX channel." On the other hand, survey
respondents made a number of suggestions for general operating
practices.

Based on the survey results and subsequent research, the committee
declined to propose a specific band plan for 60 meters at this time.
The
committee instead created a "Recommended Practices" document that is
now
available
(http://www.arrl.org/files/file/Regulatory/Recommended_Practices_for_60_
Meters%20-%20Version%206_4.pdf) for downloading from the ARRL Web. The
60 Meter pages (http://www.arrl.org/60-meter-faq) on the ARRL Web will
also be updated to reflect the changes brought about by the Report and
Order.

The April issue of QST magazine will also include an article by ARRL
Regulatory Information Manager Dan Henderson, N1ND, which offers a
detailed discussion of the new 60 meter privileges and recommended
operating practices.

Milt,
I will do just that.....  keep you informed.....the most IMPORTANT thing for me is the 070 connection  and mixw  fits that.   I have been satisfied with it for all these 070 years.  Recently I bought a Flex-radio SDR  so started experimenting.....it is a work in progress
but I always seem to come back to mixw     for 070 reasons...

thanks Milt....

John,
This is interesting to follow. I use MixW 2.19, and have not upgraded as 2.19 is suiting my needs quite well. I tried some of the upgrades and spent about 8 hours getting back to 2.19 the way I had it set up.
The deciding factors?
The MixW icons.
The K1PGV MixW macro buttons. I have that downloaded into several different directories so I can use a seperate set for contests, band changing, etc.
The ability to change the colors of the waterfall. I've come out with different waterfalls than the standard MixW colors. I can see more traces with mine.
Please keep us posted as to what you find?

I use Mixw 3.xx for my digi modes and use the 070 icons to alert me of an 070 member or lonp ......my question is does fligi have such a feature. I have been thinking of trying it. I have recently been looking at DXLab suite and I am very inpressed with it. Both digi programs have 3rd party interfaces with dxkeeper.

thanks 73

Assistance needed: K3, SignaLink USB and HRD

W7RIV

Anyone using the following combination?

K3, SignaLink and HRD? I have been using and Icom IC-703, SignaLink USB and
HRD since I got licensed in Oct 2011. I recently just got my new radio and
I'm very pleased with it so far, but I'm having some setup issues. I got it
configured, I can send out the PTT light comes on (SignaLink) the waterfall
does what I would expect, the TX light comes on the K3, it finishes, the PTT
light goes off, but the TX light never goes off on the K3. If I press the
XMIT button ending the TX, then it goes off. But, I was not getting anyone
to come back to me or anyone returning my CQs. So I was wondering if I was
actually going out.

Thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I've searched multiple sites
and archives.
