Hello Lloyd, KL7JGN

I was asked that same question by AL7FS in Alaska.
Yes ANY HAM who makes at least one contact with another ham in The State
of Alaska may apply for the award. That includes Alaskans -hi!
In fact, I encourage all Alaskan Ops to apply for the award. There's
only one stipulation, no repeater contacts, but EcoLink in fine. You may
make the contact on AM, FM, CW, PSK31, other digital modes, SSB etc.
Finally, look at the link below as the award already has a, "50 Gold
Seal" endorsement.
http://www.wa3wsj.org/Alaska_50th_Award.html

FYI: Happy 50th Alaska! 1/3/1959 !!!!

Hello Ed.
Nice to see the Certificate on Alaska . I have worked many Alaskans as I
live here in Anchorage . Been in Alaska since 1945 . I was the
Certificate Manager and Chapter Director of the ( Alaskan Iditarod
Chapter ) of 10-10 International . The Chapter is QRT now and I plan to
bring it back to life when 10 meters opens into Alaska .
I have worked a few Alaskans on PSK31 and SSB on 20 meters . Can I send
in one of those contacts for your Certificate ?

My 070 # 598 and EPC # 822 .

Re: Alaska 50th Award!

Bill Sheehan

Maybe I need to apply.

I ran into a station from 2 Rivers Alaska during the PODXS QRP DX contest
last weekend.

I was surprized he answered my call, 5 watts isn't all that much power, and
he had a pile up at the time.
