Re: Membership Upgrades

jeffnjr484@...

Hello Everyone,

My post on the membership thing was really took out of proportion I have nothing but high praises for all who manage the clubs logs I didn't think there was nothing in that post that said anything but something postive my comment was not meant to cause hard feelings but as a suggestion to cut down on the time that the volunteers spend on gathering the information needed from a log to get a member to join the club. I said nothing about contest logs or any other log and I didn't mention anything about posting logs to emails !!!. There can always be set basic rules (such as don't post logs to emails). The point im trying to make is MOST logging programs that are in ADIF format log and store the data in a form that should be acceptable I know there are some that don't but if a software package supports the
format the club wants then that should be recommened for NEW MEMBERS .  Why should the person receiving the logs and taking care of them have to ask or want special logs for membership to any club when time can be saved by them for something that means them more pleasure like actually working the radio . Jay and all the club officers put in LOTS OF TIME for club purposes im only suggesting that they decide on a software  log for its members to use that would end the lengthly time they have to spend on the logs so they can get on the air . The guidelines can be revised to set the basic rules with a listing of logging programs that can meet most of whats needed so the member can send the files made by them to who is taking care of them TO MAKE IT EASIER ON THEM NOT THE MEMBER OF THE CLUB. In the end it would be simple for both the advanced computer user and the ones that are not quite use to them yet. Im really sorry if I caused harm but I don't
see anything that I said was that bad in the future I won't make any suggestions that could be helpful to the hard working VOLUNTEER members who take on the job of keeping this great club going suggestions are useful things don't read into them what is not there.
