Re: Field Day
Charlie Trice, K8IJ <k8ij@...>
Greetings all,
For Field Day I've been drafted to work 20M CW in
Gainesville, FL at K4EAF. They're gonna have a PSK31 station and I'll
sneak in there when not on CW. Sleep? What's that?
Hope to see all y'all,
Chas, K8IJ

Re: Anybody Up?--10M Open 0200Z
ebruchac@...
Morning all---
10M finally opened, but not until 0200Z,(9PMCDST)... I was putting together my FD portable, and worked K9WIS from 0200--0230. FT817,5W,portable MP-1 ant on the patio table....maybe there's hope for 10M next weekend. I'm going to make up a quick dipole for 10M ,so will look for y'all on 10M this afternoon. Anyone having any luck on 6M PSK--I think 50.290 is the spot? Ed n4zum/qrp

Good evening to all... I was yelling at full song at Egypt, SU9BN in the Sinai. I think Alan's an Aussie de VK6....only running qrp with g5rv...he no hear me in the soup from EU & USA :-( It's only about 24000 Km from here...easy eh? I worked VP5, VP2M, KP2 recently on PSK, all 'new ones'... I'm starting to push Erika's total....I could do with OJ0, but again I'm out-ranged, out-propagated....like most times! I must have a pretty nice signal, 'cos people like to get real close to my trace, so that I can't see whose called me? Maybe that's the solution...get one of those big fat wide traces to keep your bit of the band clear???? Anybody Up?
Steve W3HF
If anybody is awake now, 20m seems to have some weird
propagation now. On two consecutive QSOs, I worked VK7YP and OJ0SM, both on five watts and the attic dipole from Pennsylvania. I know Ludek is up--I think he worked Peter VK7YP just before I did. Good luck to all. 73, Steve W3HF

MORE ON ENDORSEMENTS ETC
Bob <VE4XA@...>
Hello all;
I support keeping the WAS, Aloha and Alaska endorsements (so far only achieved the Alaska endorsement) There was a mention of not too many Canadians so maybe the Maple Leaf award should go..Wellllll, as a VE4 I vote to keep it. I would even volunteer to 'manage it' for the group. For those looking for North Dakota, I can easily slip across the border (about 1 hr drive and assuming they will let me in?? ) and operate mobile/portable from there. This could happen in July or August once my laptop arrives and I get set up for mobile/portable operation again. Other than that, thanks Jay for the fine work you do looking after this stuff. KEEP THE STATES
n0bhc
I agree with Steve. The Lower 48, Aloha, and Alaska are great incentives for new 070 club members to get on the air. Isn't the purpose of the awards and endorsements to generate more PSK activity and have some fun? Now where is that email address for the congressman . . . . . 73 Bob N0BHC PS - I'm convinced PSK activity in Iowa and South Dakota is illegal under local ordinances!

Achtung all European members:
If any of you get together at Friedrichshafen, please send me all the pictures you take there of each other. I want to put them up on the 070 Club Picture page. 73 to all of you. I hope you all have as much fun at Friedrichshafen as we did at Dayton. Jay - AA8QQ

Lower 48, Aloha and Alaska
N3DQU@...
Ok, ok...looks like the people have spoken hi! I did not realize how
popular these particular endorsements were, so I have rescinded the change on the Lower 48, Aloha and Alaska endorsements and will make them permanent members of the 070 Club landscape...So Dieter, you can relax now om, no need to pay N6YIH to work you fm Idaho hi! As for the Maple Leaf, I think we should keep that one up simply because there is only one member who has earned it so far. I think there are a lot of potential members north of the border, we just have to get a fire lit under them guys! Ok if we send the UK and SV-Triband into retirement? Have got a bunch of new endorsements coming out and I guarantee you won't be bored for lack of endorsements to work for...Jay N3DQU.

070 Awards
Duncan <zl3jt@...>
de Jungle Telegraph
I think the cessation of the USA States awards: Lower 48, Aloha, and Alaska should be retained as an incentive for all time. It is a remarkable achievement, and generates activity. Other minor awards can come and go to create activity, but WAS in PSK has to remain. Sure there are other digital WAS awards, but they all require your precious QSL cards to be sent away....At risk? If there are no awards for working USA in PSK, then why bother working USA???? I have WAS in PSK, but then I am not relatively 'rare DX'? This email: <zl3jt@...> will not be available after June 30th 2002 and email will bounce... Hey Jay! Change my address now to <zl3jt@...> please? Had a change around here and even better signals will now be on your screen, (propagation permitting), from the Jungle Telegraph. My tower is now extended to 50 feet, with new 6M Antenna, refurbished A3S, and multiple dipoles... See ya'll....73s Duncan __________________________________________________ Advertise with ZFREE - to find out more click below http://www.zfree.co.nz/about-us/advert.html

Re: Let Jay hear from you
DL2AYL@...
Yes, I think the Lower 48 should remain on the list, it
needs a lot of activity, work and patience to acomplish. From our side of the globe it needs at least 48 dx-contacts, I think that gives the newcomers to the club a reason to be on the bands more often. Jay is doing a great job anyway, he must spent a good part of his sleepless nights thinking up new awards and endorsements :-) 73's Erika/DL2AYL
