OFFICIAL TDW STUFF
N3DQU@...
Ok guys and gals, it is now official...the maximum multiplier for the
Three-Day Weekend (TDW) is ninety (90). A dupe sheet is now available on the TDW Rules webpage at < http://hometown.aol.com/n3dqu/070_tdw.htm >, just click on the link. There were also plans to have a logger program available, but AA8QQ ran into a few snags and was not able to get the program up and running in time. Joe W1SQL sez that there is a possibility that he may work the TDW from both his home QTH and as maritime mobile and asked if we could accomodate him in the contest. We sed "Sure, why not?" So for the TDW, on each band you can work W1SQL twice for QSO points: once at his home QTH and once as /MM, but he will only be good for one multiplier, ok? If any newcomers to the club need their 070 member numbers, please send an email direct to JHudak3rd@aol.com. Don't forget, NO WARC BANDS. Finally, just a reminder for the UTC/Zulu-challenged that the TDW starts June 1, 0000z (that is Thursday nite, 2000z eastern time).... Looking forward to seeing you all on the air this weekend! 73/55/88 de Jay, N3DQU.

ARRL WAS
spdomingue@...
I just received this from the ARRL WAS manager:
If you apply now for WAS which you worked on PSK31, you would get the RTTY WAS award, because right now all digital modes fall under that category. However, there are plans in the works to include PSK31 as a separate WAS award, which will be dated, but not numbered. Darn, but good as they are going to have the award. Steve N6YIH/7 See everyone starring tomorrow night!!!

OK I finally received my last card for the WAS andCongratulations. I still need to work DE, NH, WY, and HI, and to get a card from either of my two WI contacts. I asked for WAS on PSK so we will see if I get it orAlready checked. They consider all digital modes as RTTY. Doesn't matter if it's PSK31, MFSK16, Hellschreiber, facsimile, SSTV, or plain old FSK RTTY, the certificate still says only "RTTY." So my WAC cert says RTTY, though they did endorse it for QRP. IMHO, the categories should be CW, Voice (whether AM, FM, SSB, or whatever), Digital (to include RTTY, PSK, MFSK, etc), and Image (fax, SSTV, FSTV). But then again, I would also include ships legally anchored in a harbor for DXCC, too. See you all this weekend.Hope so. Steve W3HF __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Does marine mobile count? I hope to work from myWell it wouldn't count for DXCC, but maybe the 070 guys are a little more generous than the ARRL. Re: 3 day contest
spdomingue@...
Joe,
You would have two different calls W1SQL and W1SQL/MM ?? This is a good question? There is nothing in the rules about changing locations. SO ?? So how will it work? Do you use 2 logs or 1 log? Do I get to count you once or twice?? Guess we shall hear from the POWER's that BE. Steve N6YIH/7

spdomingue@...

Heard you on 20m last night (or was it the night before?). Signal was very nice for a few minutes, but faded out before you finished the QSO you were in. Weird conditions on 20m late last night. Heard two FKs, two VKs, and a ZL. They were all fading in and out for a couple of hours. Didn't get any of them, though. :-( But an N6, QRP at 2 W, did get one of the FKs, so I think I had a chance. Unfortunately, he wasted a bunch of time asking questions about France, and didn't recognize the prefix. Maybe some time ... Hi All,Ernie - We'll miss you. Best wishes on getting a new rig soon, and putting yourself back on the air. I plan to be on at least for a few hours, but it will be only on 20m, and only QRP. Still no progress on the multi-band radio. :-( BTW, if anyone has my email address in their address books, please change it to the w3hf@arrl.net address. My current ISP, Voicenet, is terminating their relationship with my DSL provider, so it looks like I'll be switching ISPs. 73, Steve W3HF __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
