Mr. Bill, Hello Jay: We're NOT sure at ALL what Ed is up to! With all of these prizes he's beginning to look like a replacement for Bob Barker and "Let's Make A Deal!" He is one of those hams that you just never know what he'll do next! In our case we worry....he'll break the club's bank account!

Mr. Bill,
Is Mr. Ed trying an advertising ploy to promote TARA with all these clocks? Or is he one of these people who has to much time on his hands? See you in the test, Jay - AA8QQ member - Team Challenger

TARA's Digital Boss Goes CRAZY!!
ny2u@...
Greetings Fellow PSK'ers:
Can somebody PLEASE explain to me or shead some light on what has gone on with TARA's Digital Contest Manager - Ed, KC2HNC, and ALL these TARA Clocks? If my counting is right I see that TARA is now ready to award "7" of its very cool looking TARA Wall Clocks. Plus, he's got all those certificates too! I can't imagine what he'll try next! Is there any other club that would like to take Ed off our hands, before he bankrupts our club? Take a look at the new list of prizes below and you tell me if he isn't going insane. * Most 6 Meters contacts will receive a TARA Clock. (Not open to Teams !) * First Place SWL will receive a TARA Clock. * First Place Novice will receive a TARA Clock. The "NEW" KC2HNC Tara Chairman Challenge * 1st Station to work all US States wins a TARA Clock.

HF0POL endorsement proposal
Costas Krallis SV1XV <sv1xv@...>
Hi Jay,
Since January 2002, HF0POL has been very active in PSK mode from a semi-rare location (South Shetland Islands, Antarctica, IOTA AN-010). Perhaps you could design a 070 club endorsement for contacting HF0POL on two different bands. 73 Costas SV1XV +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Costas Krallis SV1XV * LOC KM18UA | | P.O.Box 3066 * E-Mail: sv1xv@eexi.gr | | GR-10210 Athens * PGP key: 0x3BDBBC34 | | GREECE * http://www.qsl.net/sv1xv/ | +------------------------------------------------------------+

Older than most? Geez, some people's kids. Age
here is 67. Actually I'm surprised I made it this far. So, I'm still
a kid.
Everything in these radios works until the smoke leaks
out. Once the smoke leaks, then you have to buy a new part that has a full
smoke tank. I think that's one of the questions on the Extra Class
test.
I like the idea of the Old Guys Award. Work 3 Ø7Ø
members who are 7Ø or older and you get a Certificate. Heckuva
deal.

de Jungle Telegraph,
Thanks Jay, you can change it anytime my friend, preferably before the 30th April. I'd love to help but the distance is a problem....and the money... I say Dick! The only difference between men and boys, is the cost of their toys! Granddaughter graduating? Gosh! you must be older than most! There's a thought Jay? Some sorta award for working guys that are over, say 75? Perhaps even adding ages together of those over 70...Call it the 300 year award...you only have to work 4 guys over 75 or 5 guys over 60...or 2 at 150!! Second thoughts...it might encourage them too much... Did you hear about the CB'er who thought he would make use of the local power distribution system for an antenna. He reckoned that with all that wire around the country, who would need an amplifier? Made up a lead with a mains plug on one end, and a PL259 on the other! Told me later that electricity is only smoke in a tube... It came out of his rig after a very short while! Said something about a mismatch 50 ohms into 60 cycles... See ya'll 73s Duncan __________________________________________________ Advertise with ZFREE - to find out more click below http://www.zfree.co.nz/about-us/advert.html

Re: Dayton
Dick Thompson <wb0dul@...>
Jay,
I was planning on Dayton this year, but we have a
granddaughter who graduates from high school that same weekend. So, to
keep peace I cancelled dayton. I really was wanting to meet all you crazy
people who use rotatable verticals, etc. But, my XYL told me to go ahead
and order a new FT-100D since I was planning on buying one in Dayton.
After I checked to see if I was in the right house, I placed the order and have
been having a lot of fun with it. Not a bad trade off, was it? See
you in 2003 for sure. I don't care who is graduating.
73,
Dick
