stan W9SMR

The intense competition for Top Dawg in the 2022 Rollo Cup Contest Championship (RC3) has continued.

Buz, WA5AMM
has held tight to 1st Place by repeating his resounding Top Dog performance in the Hudak 80M, Great Pumpkin 160M and Triple Play Sprints. Buz is on a roll!

Eric, K9VIC
has maintained a firm grip on 2nd place. Note that Eric is one of the few QRP Contest participants. Great job, Eric.

Lee. N5SLY
has again climbed to 3rd Place as John, KC3FL has slipped back to 4th  Place.

Steve, W3HF has climbed to 5th Place as Bob, KF3AA has slipped to 6th place.

The table below shows the Top Ten finishers following the 9 PODXS 070 Contests so far.

Congrats to all our Contest warriors!

All results and your standing will be posted soon on the
Leader Board RC3-2022

The Top Dawg in the Rollo Cup Contest Championship will receive a special certificate, a Rollo Dog Tag, and an Engraved Silver Revere Cup Trophy.

The RC3 for 2022 is not over yet. We have 1 PODXS-070 Contest on the calendar to be fought out. Let the battle continue!

Time to start thinking about your participation in the next PODXS 070 Event. Check your long-wire or make a plan for a temporary stealth antenna if your HOA seems to be dead set against any wires outside. This is a great opportunity to put some 160m Q’s in the log for the Top Band Endorsement.

Joe,

Thanks for working me last night under difficult conditions.
My first PSK-31 QSO on 30 meters!

Congrats on the 366.  I still have five more days to go, but unfortunately three of those days are in 2023, including one in October!  (My niece scheduled her out-of-state wedding on a day I needed.  Very inconsiderate of her…)

Fantastic Joe!  Congratulations on those fine achievements - particularly on the 366!  As you well know, that ain't an easy one.  It takes real dedication and perseverance. You've got something extra to be thankful for tomorrow!  Well done!

When I switch radios I have to go to an hrd Soundcard page and change the correct codec port for recieve and transmit.

Gentlemen, I have output and firmly believe the TS-890 itself is the issue.

It appears that turning the data mode on using the Data Button on the rig does not select the USB Audio as the data source.  I started ACRP-890, an external Kenwood Rig control program, noticed in the status bar at the bottom said ACC-2 was the modulation source, also while the rig indicated USB-D, the ACRP program showed just USB as the mode.  After clicking the DATA button on the ACRP-890 software, the ACRP software correctly displayed the mode as USB-D, and the modulation source at the bottom correctly showed USB audio as the modulation source.  Upon clickin CQ in my MixW software it keyed, and I had power out of the rig.  I was able conduct a QSO with WA5AMM in South Carolina.

This morning, I fired up the rig, and attempted to use MixW to CQ, had the rig displaying USB-D, no power out.  I went to ACRP-890, noticed the modulation was back to ACC-2, mode displayed as USB. Had to click the Data button in ACRP to get it to show USB-D and the USB Audio as modulation sourcc. I was able then to transmit the CQ with power out.

So, something is awry in the rig.  I should not have to have ACRP running and go through all these steps to operate every time I turn the rig on.  The rig should be completely self-functional, and operate all features as a stand alone entity.

Again thanks to all for assistance.  I am currently attempting to get Kenwood Customer Support to agree, and be able to return this defective rig to the dealer for replacement.

I have set up the rig according to the manual, and have set the Data input to be from the rear USB port.  I have set up the CAT with the Mixw to use the virtual ports provided by the driver.
I am able to receive and decode signals from the rig in MixW.  Cat  is working, it properly reads the frequency and displays in the waterfall.  CAT will key rig.  And that is were the problem starts,
the rig keys, but there is no output.

K6MG, KK6M and I have spent hours on this issue with no change.  There is nothing in the TS-890 or MixW groups that help.  Until this is resolved, I am unable to operate PSK, missed Triple Play because of this.
