Been doing PSK31 since December of 1999.  Never heard of a calling frequency.  We always used 070 normally (thus the name of the club) and

set our offset.  (early Early days we had to tune the radio a bit) but Never had a calling freq.

Greetings Folks,

I juist had an old timer age 87 with 52 years of amateur radio experience tell me during a BPSK31 QSO, that the frequency i was calling CQ on was a "Callin Frequency" and to not use it. What is the name of all that is Wonderful is he talking about??? If I missed something here please let me know. Somehow I can not believe a word of what this gentleman is telling me - call sign WA7MOX Peter.

Don't get me wrong, he was very polite and we had an interesting QSO but his insistance that 14.071.5 to be reserved as a "Calling Frequency" has me stumped. Any of you long time users of BPSK31 have any info on this please let me know.

Thanks. It's a wonderful thing to get on the air and be schooled by someone that has strange information.....at least in my view.
Cheers
