Not sure of the details but the technology is here today to drop an automated ham station on a rock, reef or other distant spot and it can and will make contacts with stations.  It would also have the capability to up load the logging and be solar powered.  A couple of years ago, the HF Voyager was active in the Pacific giving out grid squares and providing logging info on the website.  This was using FT8 as well as PSK31 on 20 meters.

Huh?  Can someone tell me what this means and why it was done?  Is it aimed at FT4?  FT8?  Something else?
