I'm glad the club does this contest. It's my favorite, as I get to try out some different modes. I'm looking forward to next Saturday.

When I started in amateur radio just 2 years ago, I discovered the digital modes and was amazed at how many of them there were. Fldigi has something like 100 different modes available, and I decided I wanted to try all of them. However I also quickly discovered that you had to have someone on the other end with the same mode, and very few of the modes were actually being used. At this point I only have contacts with PSK, the WSJT modes, and a few with Olivia. PSK is my favorite.
