Now I remember it...  too bad as it was a challenging award and helped many get a few IOTA's as well.

jerry -- here's the announcement from last summer:

Not sure why it was expired ...  and there was supposed to be a "next big thing" to succeed it, but it didn't materialize.

Just checked 070 page and the answer is "No !'.   Forgot it was done away with.    My apologies.

Anyhow, the station will still count for a fairly rare zone.

Copied this from a Linked In group:

From W5FJG/KC4AAA  I have just been assigned to the Amundsen-Scott Pole Station (The South Pole). I should be active during the weekends using the station call KC4AAA. You can work us on 14.243 +- QRM on Sundays between 0001 and 0200/ 0300UTC. The station is well equipped with a KW, 20M and 40M mono banders fixed on the US and a tribander fixed on Europe . A 17M mono bander was just installed and will go operational the weekend of Jan 25, 2014. Also we just regained the ability to operate CW from this station. Working on the digital modes now, and hope to have PSK-31 and RTTY up and running in a few weeks. 73 Joe
