They can get quite large, but I think these were only a couple of feet

long, adolescences I think. They do have a voracious appetite for
birds, which is why there are very few birds on the island and why it is
imperative they do not leave the island of Guam.

Brown Tree Snakes!! Boy that brings back a lot of memories!!! As a
primary aircrew member on a USAF transport aircraft, we were always
vigilant over these suckers. One day while doing the exterior and
interior walk around just prior to take off, I had two of those suckers
stick their head out of a cargo pallet in the aircraft. Needles to say,
we could not leave for our destination, Kwajilean.
To make a very long story short, the cargo was downloaded, the snake
dogs were deployed, but found nothing in any of the cargo pallets, but
when let loose inside the C-130, they went ballistic.
Took the maintenance folks almost 36 hours to disassemble the floor of
the aircraft to find not 2, but 5 of those suckers.
Needles to say, my trip to Kwajilean to operate the Ham station there

Barring any unforeseen delays, I plan to be on Guam for about 11 days beginning next Wednesday, 18 April. This is a business trip, but I plan to get some PSK31 time at the WH2DX club station. (That's where I operated for three days last September.)
I can't predict operating times--it will depend on my work schedule. But if the configuration is similar to last September's, I may be able to post emails when I'm at the station.
